PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say a shooting in the lobby of a north Philadelphia apartment building led to a pursuit by law enforcement officers who shot and critically injured a suspect.
Police say Philadelphia Housing Authority officers responded after the shooting in the lobby of the Norman Blumberg Apartments just before 3 a.m. Monday.
Police said Philadelphia police officers and an FBI agent who was in the area caught up with a suspect in a vacant lot and fired after he pointed a semi-automatic handgun at them.
Investigators said the suspect was hit four times and rushed to Hahnemann Hospital, where Inspector Scott Small says he was identified by a witness as the lobby shooter.
A second man fled the scene and is being sought as a person of interest in the case.
