ND oil county rejects plan for housing, RV park

RAY, N.D. (AP) - Williams County officials have denied a request to build a 55 homes and a recreational vehicle park near Ray.

The Williston Herald reports (https://bit.ly/MgkwKv ) that the Williams County Planning and Zoning Commission denied the request last week after heated debate.

Backers of the proposal say the project would attract families and investment in Ray. The city is part of the state’s booming oil patch.

Emergency and fire officials in Ray had expressed worries about serving the area 1 ½ miles from town.
