PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island Secretary of State Ralph Mollis has formally launched his campaign for lieutenant governor.
The Democrat formally announced his run Monday.
Mollis is prohibited from seeking a third term as Secretary of State. He is a former mayor of North Providence.
He began his formal candidacy with a tour of a manufacturing plant for the jewelry company Alex & Ani. He says that if elected, he would focus on workforce development and efforts to create more jobs in the state.
Cumberland Mayor Dan McKee is also running for the post as a Democrat. Incumbent Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts is term-limited.
