NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Troopers have arrested a man they say robbed a New Castle deli and injured an employee during a struggle.
It happened about 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Dom’s Deli in the Rambleton Acres Shopping Center. Troopers say a man entered the store and went to the sales counter to buy something.
Police say when the store clerk opened the cash register, the man climbed over the counter and pushed the clerk. A struggle ensued as the man tried to take from the register, and the clerk suffered a hand injury.
Officers say the man grabbed some cash and ran to the parking lot, where he got into a car. A witness gave police the license number.
Fifty-year-old William Craner of Delaware City was arrested and charged with robbery.
