WIKIEUP, Ariz. (AP) - Mohave County authorities say a 59-year-old Lake Havasu City man escaped injury when his single-engine plane crashed and burned in a pasture during a failed takeoff attempt.
The Sheriff’s Office says James Logsdon was the only person in his plane in the accident that occurred about eight miles west of U.S. 93 on Sunday.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Logsdon was able to get out of the plane before it caught fire.
Logsdon had flown Sunday morning from Lake Havasu City to Wikieup (WICK’-e-up) and was attempting to take off from there when the accident occurred.
