OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Few people ventured out in Monday’s bitter cold weather to visit a northwest Omaha bakery and coffee shop.
Only a handful of people were inside Panera Bread Monday morning when Bruce Billesbach made his regular stop around 8:30.
Billesbach says he’s definitely looking forward to spring after this winter’s extreme cold.
The 52-year-old hedge fund manager says he’s always saying that this winter will be his last one here in Omaha, but he stays in the area because of family nearby.
Billesbach says this winter’s quick shifts between nice weather and bitter cold seem weird. For instance, the temperature reached 53 in Omaha Sunday morning before Monday’s wind chills fell below negative 29 degrees.
Billesbach says he’ll definitely take his dog on a shorter walk Monday because of the cold.
