PROVO, Utah (AP) - A member of the Utah County Republican Party is suing its vice chair, claiming he wrongfully accused her of depositing party money into her personal account.

Julie Blaney, in her complaint filed in Justice Court in Orem last week, maintains Daryl Acumen damaged her reputation by making false claims against her.

Acumen declined to comment.

Blaney, a member of the party’s audit committee, alleges Acumen told party leaders and volunteers in December and earlier this month that she “misappropriated funds” from a concert at Utah Valley University last year for personal gain.

The Daily Herald of Provo reports (https://bit.ly/1fgqDZy ) Blaney claims Acumen’s statements may cause her to lose her office within the party.
