FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A Fayetteville man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of a 23-year-old man.

Police say 26-year-old Harold Allen shot and killed Freddie Locks at around 8 p.m. Friday.

Authorities say Allen shot Locks with a shotgun after Locks assaulted a woman.



Allen is charged with first-degree murder. He was being held without bond at the Cumberland County jail, and it wasn’t known if he had an attorney.

No other information about the shooting has been released.
