TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (AP) - A Kearns man has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in a chain-reaction accident that killed a 3-year-old boy in Taylorsville.

Police say a vehicle driven by 55-year-old Manuel de Jesus Guinea crashed into the back of a car in which the victim, Zane Thurber of Murray, was a passenger.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal says the impact caused a chain-reaction accident that involved three other vehicles Saturday night.

He says while occupants of the three other vehicles escaped serious injury, the 36-year-old driver of the car carrying the victim was injured and listed in fair condition at a hospital, as was a 6-year-old passenger in the car.

Their names were not immediately released.

Guinea was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on charges of automobile homicide and driving under the influence.
