ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Authorities are looking for a man suspected of shooting another man on the West Mesa after arguing about a horse.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office says 52-year-old Eduardo Bracamonte remains in critical but stable condition after suffering a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen.

Capt. Edward Mims says authorities have an arrest warrant for 41-year-old Louie Roybal.

Mims says Albuquerque police were initially called just after 5 p.m. Saturday to an undeveloped property where horses are occasionally boarded.

Witnesses told police and sheriff’s deputies that Roybal and Bracamonte had been fighting about the price of a horse when the shooting occurred.

Mims says the victim was likely shot with a small gauge shotgun.
