CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - Police in Cape Girardeau are investigating after two people reported being injured in a shooting at an arena.

The Southeast Missourian reports (https://bit.ly/M1azQn ) the shooting occurred late Saturday at the A.C. Brase Arena. Police said an officer at the scene said a male victim was taken to the hospital with what he believed were non-life-threatening injuries. Police spokesman Darin Hickey says the victim had a gunshot wound to his chest.

Hickey says officers were sent to a hospital a short while later after someone walked into the emergency room with a gunshot wound to his leg and said he had also been shot while he was at the arena.



Authorities said the arena was shut down early because of the shooting.
