CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The West Virginia Division of Culture and History is inviting eighth graders to participate in this year’s state History Bowl.

The tournament tests students’ knowledge of West Virginia, including culture, geography, government, history, literature and sports.

Eight regional tournaments will be held across the state from Jan. 31 to March 1. Teams of four students participate in double-elimination play. The winner and runner-up teams are invited to the state tournament at the Culture Center in Charleston.



This year’s state tournament will be held on April 29.
