KENT, Wash. (AP) - A van pulling out of a driveway in Kent struck a 62-year-old and left her with life-threatening injuries.

Kent police say the woman, a resident of Kent, had been walking along the sidewalk Friday night when she stepping in front of van waiting to make a right turn onto 104th Avenue Southeast. The van pulled out and knocked her into the roadway.

Police arrived within moments and paramedics treated her before transporting her to a local hospital. There was no further description of her injuries.

Investigators say the driver, a 48-year-old man, has been very cooperative and there’s no indication he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. A decision on whether to file charges will come once the investigation is completed.
