PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A crash involving nine cars west of Detroit in Washtenaw County has left five people injured, one critically.
The Ann Arbor News reports that firefighters had to cut one person from a car that slid beneath a semitrailer Saturday morning at Interstate 94 and U.S. 23 in Pittsfield Township.
That person was in critical condition at an area hospital. Another victim was in serious condition.
The newspaper reports that the 9:30 a.m. crash was one of 15 Saturday involving multiple vehicles in the township. Highways and roads across much of Michigan were slippery with blowing and drifting snow.
The Lansing State Journal reports that two people were hurt during white-out conditions in crashes on Interstate 69 in Eaton County’s Windsor Township.
