HIALEAH, Fla. (AP) - A South Florida vehicle crash left a man dead and an on-duty police officer seriously injured.
Hialeah police say Officer Robert Morales and 36-year-old Amado Arcia Lapido collided at an intersection Friday morning. Both men were airlifted to a Miami hospital, where Lapido died. The Miami Herald reports that Morales was listed in serious condition Friday evening.
A witness told investigators that the officer had a green light when he entered the intersection. The investigation is ongoing.
