DETROIT (AP) - An early morning suspicious fire at a Detroit motel has forced the evacuation of about two dozen people.
WDIV-TV reports the Friday fire at the Victory Inns & Suites on the city’s west side started in one unit and spread quickly. Investigators say the fire appeared to be deliberately set by a man who was in a dispute with a guest.
There were no reported injuries but about 24 people had to seek shelter elsewhere.
Fire officials say the blaze was quickly contained but many rooms suffered smoke damage.
