WINDSOR, Maine (AP) - Maine State Police say a Windsor man has been charged with severely injuring his 6-month-old daughter last month.

Twenty-one-year-old Kevin Peaslee was arrested Friday following his indictment.

Police say Peaslee shook the baby on Dec. 21, causing severe brain damage and blindness. Police say the baby is in grave condition at Maine Medical Center.

Peaslee is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and is expected to make his first court appearance next week. It was not immediately known if he was being represented by an attorney.

Authorities say Peaslee and his girlfriend, who is baby’s mother, have been living with his parents in Windsor.
