STAUNTON, Va. (AP) - A private Staunton-based school has taken the final step to become completely co-educational.

Stuart Hall announced Wednesday that it will begin enrolling boys in its boarding school program for grades eight through 12 in the fall.

Boys have been day students in the middle school program since 1999 and in the high school program since 1999.

Anna Hogan graduated from Stuart Hall in 1987 and her son is a day student. She tells The News Leader (https://bit.ly/1dXyGtH ) that she initially wasn’t receptive to the school becoming completely co-ed. But she realized that boys should have the same opportunities as girls to attend the school.
