HARRINGTON, Del. (AP) - Police say they’ve charged a Harrington man and woman in the beating of an 11-year-old girl.

Police announced Wednesday that a 31-year-old Victoria Strand was charged earlier this month with beating the girl and 30-year-old Travis Strand was charged with not coming to the girl’s aid.

Harrington police Lt. Earl Brode says the girl told social workers that Victoria Strand punched her in the face, arm and leg and threatened to kill her and Travis Strand did not step in to help the girl.

Victoria Strand was charged with two counts of terroristic threatening and third-degree child abuse and Travis Strand was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Both were released on bail.
