ND had biggest percent increase in population

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota had the largest percentage growth of population in the latest U.S. Census Bureau release of such numbers.

The agency says the state grew by 3.1 percent from July 2012 to July 2013.

That put the state’s population at 723,393, or a net increase of 22,048 people in one year.

The Census says most other fast-growing states were in the South and West.

Of Midwestern states, only North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa had more people move into the state than moved away.
