BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) - Hancock County Coroner Jim Faulk says a 7-week-old boy found dead in his mother’s bed died of asphyxiation.
The infant’s death Tuesday has been ruled an accident.
The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1g3lmrd ) Faulk released the cause of death after an autopsy was performed Wednesday.
Faulk says forensic evidence is consistent with the mother’s account that the baby fell asleep on his back on a pillow in bed with her but was face down when she woke up.
