CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Former Gov. Bob Wise will be among the panelists at a forum on West Virginia’s PROMISE scholarship.

The forum will be held next Tuesday at the Clay Center in Charleston. Among the topics include potential improvements to the scholarship to further its goals.

Wise currently is president of the Washington, D.C.-based Alliance for Excellent Education, a nonprofit group that supports effective high school reform to increase student achievement.



Other scheduled panelists including Marshall University President Stephen Kopp, state higher education Chancellor Paul Hill and state Board of Education member Lloyd Jackson.

The forum is being conducted by the young professionals group Generation Charleston. The event is free but those interested in attending must make a reservation through its parent group, the Charleston Area Alliance.
