CAMPTI, La. (AP) - Officials say a man whose body was found in Black Lake near Campti has been identified as 47-year-old Troy W. Harper.

Natchitoches Parish sheriff’s deputies tell The Town Talk (https://townta.lk/1hNVuwE ) Harper’s body was found Tuesday in the water near Chandler’s Camp off La. Highway 9 by a passer-by.

Detectives say it appears that Harper, a Creston resident who suffered heart problems, was fishing from the bank when his line became tangled in some stumps in the water.

It’s believed that Harper tried to free the line, fell into the water and couldn’t get back up.
