DETROIT (AP) - Authorities say four people have been taken to the hospital for treatment following a fire at a group home on Detroit’s west side.

WDIV-TV reports crews responded about 3:45 a.m. Thursday and a neighbor helped get several people from the home.

Detroit Fire Department Senior Chief Douglas Lyon tells The Detroit News that the conditions of those injured - identified as men ranging in age from 58 to 76 - weren’t immediately available. The newspaper says they had smoke inhalation and scratches.

Temperatures were in the single digits at the time of the fire. The cause is under investigation.
