OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A woman accused of fleeing from a fatal Omaha car crash has been formally charged.
Justice Wiggins faces a felony of leaving the scene of an injury accident and failing to render aid. She also faces a misdemeanor of unintentional motor vehicle homicide. The Omaha World-Herald says (https://bit.ly/1kZeZXW ) the 18-year-old made a court appearance Wednesday.
Police say Wiggins was involved in two car crashes Sunday night. Following the first, Wiggins was driving more than 30 miles over the speed limit when she passed a stop sign and struck a car driven by 23-year-old Brycel Jackson.
Jackson was killed. Three of Wiggins’ four passengers were treated for minor injuries. Police say Wiggins and one passenger fled the scene.
Wiggins remains at the Douglas County Jail on $500,000 bail.
