DOVER, Del. (AP) - Utility crews across the Delmarva peninsula restored service to thousands of customers after a winter storm coated the region with snow and ice.
The Delaware Electric Cooperative, which serves mostly rural areas of central and southern Delaware, reported about 6,800 customers in Sussex County without power Wednesday morning, but had restored service to all but about 50 customers by early afternoon.
Delmarva Power reported about 2,900 customers without power Wednesday morning, almost all of them in Cecil County, Md., where 11 inches of snow were reported in Elkton. The utility reported fewer than 30 customers without power Wednesday afternoon.
