RENO, Nev. (AP) - Sheriff’s deputies investigating a suspected murder in Sun Valley have identified the 40-year-old woman they say was shot to death earlier this week.
Washoe County sheriff’s spokesman Bob Harmon says Candice Elizabeth Weakland of Sun Valley was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after deputies responded to reports of gunfire at a mobile home on Carol Drive about 11 a.m. Monday.
They arrested 50-year-old John Richard Harding of Sun Valley outside the residence and booked him into the Washoe County jail on suspicion of murder, attempted murder, resisting an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia. He remained jailed on Wednesday without bail.
