SHOW LOW, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a Show Low-area man has been arrested for allegedly making an online threat about an unspecified school in east-central Arizona’s White Mountains.

Show Low police say 18-year-old Steven Carpenter has been booked into jail on disruption of an education institute and threats.

They say Carpenter formerly attended Show Low High.

An anonymous tip from someone who saw the threat on a social media site led to an investigation by Show Low police, the Navajo County Attorney’s Office and the Pinetop-Lakeside police.

Show Low police say the generic threat didn’t list a specific time or date for a school shooting or what school was being targeted and Carpenter probably didn’t have the ability to carry out the threat.

Authorities didn’t immediately know Wednesday if Carpenter has a lawyer yet.
