RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A Richmond judge has declined to set bond for a motorist accused in the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian.
Richmond General District Judge Tracy Thorne-Begland arraigned Barry Mallory by video teleconference from the Richmond City Jail on Tuesday on a felony hit-and-run charge.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1mCyKmA) reports the 51-year-old Richmond resident was arrested last Thursday shortly after the incident at an intersection.
The 53-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene after being thrown nearly 50 feet upon impact. The victim’s identity has been withheld while police try to notify relatives.
