OWOSSO, Mich. (AP) - More than 150 Michigan Army National Guard soldiers from an Owosso-based company are returning home after a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan.
A ceremony is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Owosso High School to honor members of the 144th Military Police Company.
The soldiers had a variety of duties. Some supported perimeter security for coalition bases, a platoon served as police advisers to several police districts and a squad conducted Joint Visitor Bureau operations to provide security for four-star generals and others.
