COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A Colorado Springs divorce lawyer says he thought he had been hit by a lightning bolt the night he was shot in the eye by a sniper while working late at his downtown law office.
Attorney John Ciccolella said Tuesday during the second day of trial of Bruce Nozolino that he was knocked to the floor by what he thought was an electric shock during the 2002 shooting.
Nozolino is on trial in what prosecutors characterize as a decade-long series of revenge shootings, including both attacks on Ciccolella, who represented Nozolino’s ex-wife, Beverly, in a contentious divorce that began in the 1990s.
According to the Colorado Springs Gazette (https://tinyurl.com/m9lzdru ), attorneys for Nozolino said Ciccolella identified other possible suspects in the attacks.
