BROOKINGS, Ore. (AP) - The Coast Guard says crews have been rescued from two commercial fishing vessels that crashed into Oregon coastal jetties, one at Brookings, the other at Newport.

A Coast Guard boat rescued four people from the vessel Jo Marie on Monday night after it hit the Chetco River south jetty. They were given emergency treatment.

The Coast Guard said Tuesday the boat was still on the jetty, but no fuel pollution was reported. The Curry Coastal Pilot reported that only the upper part of the 62-foot vessel could be seen above the water at daybreak Tuesday.

At Newport on Monday night, the vessel Eclipse reported it lost propulsion, hit a jetty, and began taking on water.

Three people were helped, one showing signs of mild hypothermia. The vessel was pumped out and towed away.
