JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - A bill proposed in the Alaska Senate would criminalize sending certain insulting or taunting electronic messages to children.

SB128, by Sen. Kevin Meyer, says a person would be committing the crime of second-degree harassment if that person sent an electronic communication that insulted, taunted, challenged or intimidated someone under age 18 in a way that made the person fear physical or severe emotional injury or property damage.

Harassment in the second-degree is a Class B misdemeanor.
