BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) - The Whatcom County sheriff says the shotgun death of a 60-year-old man at a home near Bellingham, Wash., is being investigated as a homicide.

Sheriff Bill Elfo also said Wednesday that a stepson accused of fleeing the scene in the victim’s Subaru and later stealing a pickup truck has been arrested after a high-speed chase on Whidbey Island.

The Bellingham Herald reports (https://is.gd/qsIiqW ) that Steven Roy Siebert was found dead Tuesday evening.



Island County Undersheriff Kelly Mauck says 41-year-old Joshua Adams was arrested late Tuesday night in the stolen pickup after a police chase. Mauck says a stolen handgun and a dog were also recovered.

Adams was booked into the Island County Jail for investigation of possessing a stolen vehicle and a stolen firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
