GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - An 11-year-old boy has survived a fall into a well in Greenville County.

Sheriff’s Lt. Tim Ridgeway says the boy was in the well for more than an hour before he was pulled out at around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Ridgeway says the well is at least 150-feet deep and is under a porch behind a vacant house.

Ridgeway says the boy was in water up to his shoulders and may have a broken arm. He was taken to a hospital to be treated for hypothermia.

Authorities say they do not plan to file any charges against the boy and another child who had been playing with him.
