SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - Springfield police say a body found at a waste transfer station last week was that of a 44-year-old Springfield man.
Police say no foul play is suspected in the death of Steven B. Cox but a cause of death has not been determined. His body was found last Friday at a waste transfer station belonging to WCA Waste Corp.
Police believe the man might have been sleeping elsewhere in a large trash container, which was collected and unloaded at the transfer station.
The Springfield News-Leader reports (https://sgfnow.co/1kUh0EM ) local advocates say Cox was homeless.
