HOPKINS, Minn. (AP) - A man wanted for felony assault is in custody after a standoff in Hopkins that forced dozens of apartment tenants to evacuate.
Police arrested the 32-year-old man following the standoff that lasted about six hours Monday. Hopkins police Sgt. Michael Glassberg tells the Star Tribune (https://strib.mn/1ePqsBO ) that when it became clear the man was not going to surrender peacefully the SWAT team was called.
Police forced the man out of his apartment with a gas irritant.
