DRAPER, Utah (AP) - Authorities have identified a 19-year-old Draper man who died after walking into traffic on Interstate 15.

Utah Highway Patrol officials say the Christopher Vass was struck by a car a little before 3 a.m. Tuesday in Draper. Troopers say Vass was wearing dark clothes when he stepped onto the freeway from the right shoulder.

The driver of a Ford Focus reportedly didn’t see Vass and hit him. Vass died of his injuries.

The crash closed down several lanes of traffic on the freeway during the investigation.
