MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) - Officials have announced an early closing for courts on Long Island because of the snowstorm.
Nassau and Suffolk County court officials say that operations were shutting down at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Up to a foot or more of snow was expected in the region.
A Nassau courts spokesman said the only exceptions are for emergency applications pending before the court.
There is no word on if the courts would be open Wednesday.
