TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Investigators with the FBI and the Arizona Attorney General’s Office have searched a biological research center in Tempe.
They won’t say what they’re looking for, but say the investigation has been in the works for about nine months.
Phoenix TV station KPHO reports (https://bit.ly/1kVIt96) that investigators were wearing hazmat suits during Tuesday’s search.
The biological research center is a human tissue bank where people can donate bodies and body parts.
A spokeswoman for the AG’s Office says the investigation will continue over the next few weeks.
She says the site is secure, biohazard precautions are being made as an extra safety measure for the investigators and the general public is not in any danger.
