ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A Fairbanks grand jury has indicted a 21-year-old man on 17 felony charges in connection with a string of thefts that netted items worth more than $45,000.
KTUU-TV (https://bit.ly/LyiJQ9) reports Jared Zabriskie is in custody with bail set at $50,000.
Alaska State Troopers, Fairbanks police and University of Alaska Fairbanks police identified at least 18 victims in the cases.
Investigators say Zabriskie broke into homes, a storage trailer and 15 vehicles and took stereo equipment, tires, a washer and dryer, tools and winter gear.
Investigators say he stole a bathroom sink by simply cutting the water lines and let the water run. The owner returned several days later and discovered substantial damage.
Zabriskie is charged with felony theft, vehicle theft, burglary, criminal mischief, misuse of vehicle plates and two misdemeanors.
