SAN LUIS, Ariz. (AP) - Yuma County authorities have arrested a woman in a deadly hit-and-run and say the victim has been identified as a North Carolina man.
Sheriff’s deputies were called out Sunday when an SUV hit a pedestrian on Highway 95.
A passer-by was able to provide them with a description and the license plate number of a vehicle that might have been involved.
A short time later, San Luis police spotted the damaged vehicle.
They say 42-year-old Margarita Belen was interviewed and arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of a deadly accident.
The investigation revealed the pedestrian was struck while he was walking along on the side of the highway.
Authorities say the victim has been identified as 24-year-old Joshua Wesley Wynn of North Carolina. His hometown wasn’t immediately available Tuesday.
