LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Seven Arkansas counties are under burn bans and the entire state is at moderate risk of wildfires.
The Arkansas Forestry Commission on Monday listed Faulkner, Franklin, Garland, Independence, Perry, Stone and Van Buren counties as being under burn bans.
The agency says more than 500 acres have burned in Arkansas over the holiday weekend.
Fire officials are asking residents to be careful when burning. Recent clear, dry and windy conditions are bringing a heightened risk of wildfires.
