Utah motorist dies after police chase

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A Tooele County man has died after running his car off a road during a police chase.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1akEtup ) that Mark Richard Johnson died Saturday.

Officials say Johnson was thrown from his vehicle, which landed on top of him. He wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

Sheriff’s deputies say the 37-year-old Stansbury Park man was being investigated for a domestic dispute at his home earlier in the day.

Deputies say he took off after a deputy stopped him along a road, leading to the chase.

Johnson died shortly after arrival at Mountain West Medical Center.
