NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) - New Britain police have recovered a car that authorities say was involved in a hit-and-run that injured a police officer.

Police Chief James Wardwell said the unidentified officer was still in surgery Monday morning following the Sunday night incident.

Police say the officer was struck and dragged Sunday night while responding to a report of a stolen vehicle.



No other details were immediately available.
