IRVING, Texas (AP) - Nobody has been hurt in the collapse of a large golf cart shed serving a Dallas-area luxury resort that hosts the PGA’s Byron Nelson Championship.
A spokesman for the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas in Irving says the collapse was discovered early Monday by an arriving employee. General manager Luis Argote (ar-GOH’-tay) says the 7,000-square-foot facility is about 2 miles from the resort, home to the May 12-18 golf tournament.
Irving Assistant Fire Chief Rusty Wilson says the tile-roofed structure was built in 1975 and apparently just gave way and left behind rubble. Investigators will seek a specific cause.
Argote says about 10 golf carts and other equipment were in the building. No damage estimate was released.
The resort continued normal operations Monday.
