WALKER, Mich. (AP) - Fire investigators say they believe a defective refrigerator caused a fire that killed a wheelchair-using man in his suburban Grand Rapids home.
The fire department in Walker tells WOOD-TV (https://bit.ly/1eObmN4 ) that the fire likely smoldered for some time before breaking out in the kitchen of 66-year-old Robert J. Lillis Jr.
The department says it got a call about 8 p.m. Sunday and fire crews found the house engulfed in flames.
An autopsy is planned to determine the cause of Lillis’s death.
