LOS ANGELES (AP) - A man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of a Los Angeles subway rider.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy Jeff Gordon said Sunday that an anonymous tip led investigators to search the apartment of 25-year-old Angelo Correia.
Evidence they developed from that search Friday led to the arrest of Correia on suspicion of killing 34 year-old Los Angeles resident Jose Velasco-Alvarado.
Gordon said Correia was in custody on $1 million bail. No other details were immediately available.
Velasco-Alvarado was killed Jan. 13 after a brief verbal exchange with his assailant, an incident captured by a security camera on the Metro Red Line train as it traveled near Hollywood.
