SALTILLO, Miss. (AP) - Construction is expected to begin in February on a $1.8 million expansion and renovation of Saltillo Primary School.

WCBI-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1iWQSEY ) that an addition to the second-grade wing will add six classrooms, two restrooms and a physical education building.

The school cafeteria also will be enlarged.

The project is funded through a bond issue approved in July 2013 by the Lee County Board of Supervisors.

The $13.5 million bond issue will pay for work at nine schools in the county.

The cafeteria work is expected to be completed by August and the remainder by December.
