LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Authorities say a woman wanted in Louisiana on charges of promoting child sex-trafficking has been arrested in Texas.

A news release from the Louisiana State Police says Darneesha Lashay Martin was arrested in Houston on Saturday at about 2 a.m.

Martin was being held in a Houston jail awaiting extradition to the Lafayette Parish, La., Correctional Center.

It wasn’t immediately clear if she had a lawyer. The news releases says Martin was wanted as part of an investigation called “Operation Carpe Diem”, which led to arrests ranging from drug trafficking and human trafficking to child pornography.
